This biennial event has become a unique gathering point for researchers, business people, investors, and high level policy makers in the field of digital innovation. ICT 2010 will focus on policy priorities such as Europe's Digital Agenda and the next financial programme of the European Union for funding research and innovation in ICT.

 Key themes for the 2010 conference:

  • Powering our sustainable future: the potential of digital solutions to promote sustainable growth in a low carbon economy

  • The Human Face of the Digital Age: the continuing constructive role of ICT in the daily life of citizens and the importance of public participation in the innovation process.

The conference will include special sessions presenting the European Union's funding priorities for the 2.8 Billion Euros of EU funding available for ICT research and development during 2011-2012.

Brussels Expo 27-29 September 2010

ICT Networking Session on:

Enterprise Software Applications in the Internet of the Future: Technology Push, Market Pull, or Co-Creation?

To what extent will the advent of the future internet and new enterprise models affect the next generation of enterprise software applications?

The aim of the Networking Session proposal is devoted to discussing how and to what extent the advent of the FI and of new innovative Enterprise qualities and models could affect next generation Enterprise Software Applications (ESAs).

This session is based on six topics concerned with the future internet concept:

  • architecture;
  • cloud computing;
  • service web;
  • social networking;
  • internet of things;
  • semantic technologies.

Issues to be discussed include the relationship between enterprise software applications (ESAs) and federated open trusted platforms, and whether cloud computing is the next mandatory architectural model for ESAs.

The session will also examine whether the success of social networks is simply confined to leisure and entertainment, and if the internet of things is an opportunity to have more fine-grained and real-time field data capture for ESAs.

Session will be coordinated by TXT e-solutions (Claudia Guglielmina) with participation from academia, industry and ICT.
