Enterprise Interoperability and Enterprise Collaboration in the EEU community. Enterprise Interoperability and Enterprise Collaboration are main ingredients to support collaboration between industrial and research organisations and to integrate them in the Enlarged European Union scenario. As a matter of fact, in COIN EI and EC services are essentially targeted to SMEs and research organisations, which are an essential part of the EEU economies, and can become the infrastructural backbone to integrate research and industrial networks within the single EEU countries as well as among the whole European Union.

The COIN project is paying specific effort to support the implementation of COIN services in the EEU, through the operation of six different pilots.

Starting from the initial lessons learnt from the pilots, the objective of this event is to collect and generalise barriers and gaps which are preventing a full participation of EEU research organisations in the ICT Programmes. This is the first step towards a Joint Action Plan, addressing EEU Country Policy Makers, interested in promoting and facilitating a wide integration of their research community in the European one, in a stable and permanent way. Input to the discussion will be a COIN Position Paper on the subject. The on-going call relevant to the FI PPP will be the ideal scenario to map and address the collected outcomes.

The Workshop will be held in Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union (http://ue.mae.ro)

Rue Montoyer 12, Bruxelles 1000.

The session will be useful to learn and understand politics and best practices in support of Organization Research activity and European programmes participation (especially in the ICT field).

The workshop is also an occasion to all that organizations interested in the coming FI PPP, to submit ideas under the “Future Internet” – 2011 call. The following session will be dedicated to idea presentations as possible successful cases for Research Organizations in ICT domain.

The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to presentations from EEU organizations with their experience in one European ICT Programme (COIN for EEU).
The session will be useful to understand problems and barriers, in the specific research domains, encountered in these organization living experiences.

Final session will be open to discussion and interaction with the audience in order to raise requirements and needs, barriers and gaps from the previous sessions (and from participant experience and acquaintance), and put the basis for the successive Joint Action Plan Event.
