COIN is kindly inviting you to the ICT 2008 Event Networking Session:
“An affordable and personalized health care system for a independent ageing”
Future challenge for healthcare deployment: how to make it happen?
There is a social and market demand for the new, ICT based responses to care and health service provision to improve chronic disease management at home and prolong the possibility of autonomous, safe and socially fulfilling life. Many current ICT e-health applications focus on the provision of individual clinical services. There is a need for improvement of horizontal applications and for the coordination of services from different agencies and disciplines into tailored and customized packages of provision spanning both health and social care. It is essential to understand if the national healthcare systems can integrate these innovative services and if European cooperation could help facilitating this process.
After a short overview of the EU Programmes on ICT for eHealth (FP7, CIP, AAL) and practical case studies (OLDES project, COIN project, etc..) a panel of experts will discuss how innovative eHealth services, as the ones developed by projects like OLDES, can be integrated in healthcare systems in a sustainable manner. Issues around standards are also expected to be addressed by the panel discussion.
Our goal: Sharing experiences and common pathways between the healthcare sector and experts from the enterprise interoperability world, with the final aim of learning from each other and build possible partnerships for future activities and collaborative solutions, taking into account also the eHealth standardization aspects.
