Knowledge Interoperability in Aerospace Supply Chains

Collaborative working in virtual enterprises

The COIN IP project address many issues concerning the development of a modern service ICT Platform for knowledge interoperability among the DTA actors in the Lazio Region. COIN IP and FILAS-DTA objectives are closely related. The development of a service platform with a set of basic innovative services to enable the collaborative working environment of the DTA actors is one of the strategic issues the Lazio Region in pursuing in the short-medium term. FILAS-DTA considers innovation as a key element of its regional politics and, in line with this, is willing to support the creation and operation of Virtual Enterprise Networks by developing a service platform with innovative customisable services in the aerospace sector.

COIN IP gives FILAS-DTA the possibility to achieve some major objectives:

  • reduce the time and cost of knowledge interoperability set-up when forming virtual enterprise networks
  • provide the DTA enterprises with a powerful service platform to promote collaboration and enterprise interoperability
  • allow customisation of knowledge interoperability for the aerospace supply-chain
  • reduce semantic gaps among enterprises and overcome the problems related to enterprises legacy systems
  • improve user friendliness thus minimising the effort required to train enterprises’ personnel
